The Dirt Late Model Dream returns to Eldora Speedway with a $100,000 Saturday finale and an expected field of 87 drivers, while Appalachian Mountain Speedweek and the MLRA each run three-race weekends.
This is the week the sport has been building toward. The Eldora Speedway Dirt Late Model Dream is the crown jewel on the calendar. The four-night program begins Wednesday with a $20,000 FloRacing Night in America opener, rolls through $30,000 preliminary nights on Thursday and Friday, then closes with the six-figure finale.
All 20 of the top 20 DLM-ranked drivers are expected. Bobby Pierce won the most recent Super Late Model feature at the Rossburg, Ohio 4/10-mile in October 2025, a $100,000 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race that drew 58 cars. Jonathan Davenport has been the dominant force at Eldora in recent seasons with 26 wins in 91 starts, including multiple Dream victories. Hudson O'Neal has 8 wins here. Brandon Overton has 11.
Historically, the front row has produced only about 40% of the winners in Super Late Model action at Eldora in the DIRT LATE MODEL database, and the polesitter converts at just 22%. With 100 laps looming on Saturday's finale, this is a place where charges from deep in the field happen.
Beyond Eldora, two touring series run full three-race weekends. Appalachian Mountain Speedweek hits Clinton County Speedway (Mill Hall, Pennsylvania) on Friday, Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) on Saturday, and Potomac Speedway (Mechanicsville, Maryland) on Sunday, each paying $5,000 to win. The Midwest LateModel Racing Association swings through Iowa and Illinois: Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) Friday, 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) Saturday, and Quincy Raceways (Quincy, Illinois) Sunday, all at $5,000.
The richest Dirt Late Model race of the 2026 season. The expected entry list is stacked: Pierce, O'Neal, Brandon Sheppard, Nick Hoffman, Davenport, Devin Moran, Ricky Thornton Jr., Tyler Erb, Overton, and Garrett Alberson round out the top 10. Tim McCreadie, Ryan Gustin, Drake Troutman, Max Blair, and Chris Madden are also expected, along with veterans like Dale McDowell (7 wins here), Jimmy Owens, and Shane Clanton.
The Dream's recent history belongs to Davenport and Overton, who have combined for seven of the last ten editions per the event history. Scott Bloomquist, Dennis Erb Jr., Clanton, and Billy Moyer Sr. are among other past Dream winners.
Pierce enters as the hottest name in the sport. He leads the 2026 money standings at $379,600+ across 44 starts with 11 wins and a 5.1 average finish. O'Neal isn't far behind at $324,553+ with 13 wins in 49 starts. Davenport carries a 10-win season at a $9,895 average payout per race. All three will be hunting the biggest check of the year.
Thursday and Friday serve as Dream preliminaries, each paying $30,000 to the winner. These are standalone features with their own prestige. With 87 drivers expected across the event, the qualifying races and heat lineups will be critical to Saturday positioning. Expect fierce competition just to make the feature field each night.
The week at Eldora opens with a $20,000-to-win FloRacing Night in America event on Wednesday. This serves as a warmup for the Dream but carries its own significant purse. For teams arriving early, it's a chance to dial in on the track surface before the stakes escalate Thursday.
Appalachian Mountain Speedweek runs three consecutive nights through Pennsylvania and Maryland. Friday at Clinton County Speedway (1/4-mile, Mill Hall) should draw a strong Mid-Atlantic field. Trever Feathers won the most recent Super Late Model feature there, and Gregg Satterlee is expected. Saturday shifts to Port Royal Speedway, the 1/2-mile in Port Royal where Satterlee has been dominant with 22 wins in recent seasons. Feathers has 6 wins there as well. Sunday wraps at Potomac Speedway (1/3-mile, Mechanicsville, Maryland) for the Wayne Lacy Tribute.
MLRA runs a Friday-Saturday-Sunday swing through the Midwest. Jason Feger has won the last three Super Late Model features at Davenport Speedway (3/10-mile) and owns 6 wins there in recent seasons, but is expected at the Dream. 34 Raceway (1/3-mile) and Quincy Raceways (1/4-mile) are dominated by Bobby Pierce, but with Pierce also at the Dream, the regional stars have a chance of MLRA glory this weekend. The front row has produced the winner 62% of the time at Quincy in recent Super Late Model features.
The WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series runs Friday and Saturday at Fiesta City Speedway (Montevideo, Minnesota) paying $3,000 each night, then Sunday at Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) for the Marilyn Olson Memorial at $3,000. The Tri-State Late Model Series runs three nights across Dakota State Fair Speedway (Thursday, Saturday) and Brown County Speedway (Friday) in South Dakota.
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series visits the 3/10-mile in Sylvania, Georgia with a $10,098 check on the line. Overton has dominated this track in recent seasons with 8 wins and a 5th-place average finish across 22 starts, but he's expected at Eldora this weekend, along with most of the national-level field. That opens the door for the Ultimate Series regulars and southeastern contenders. The front row has produced the winner 57% of the time here, and the polesitter converts at 37%, both well above national averages. The track averaged 31 total cars across its recent Super Late Model dates.
The Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series headlines the Borderline Brawl at the 1/4-mile in Rockholds, Kentucky. This is tied for the biggest purse the track has offered in 2026. Friday's Crate Racin' USA stop at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) pays $3,000 and serves as a lead-in, making this a two-night crate series weekend through the Appalachian corridor.
The Revival Super Dirt Series makes its 2026 visit to the 4/10-mile in WaKeeney, Kansas, which is also hosting its first Late Model race of the 2026 season. Friday pays $2,000, Saturday bumps to $3,000.
O'Neal continues to have a ripper of a season, with 7 top-5 finishes in his last 10 starts against elite competition. His consistency has been remarkable: a 5.4 average finish across those 10 races, all in fields rated among the toughest on the circuit. He's won 13 features in 2026 and leads the win column heading into the Dream.
Sheppard has been surging with 3 wins in the last 30 days and 7 top-5s in 10 starts. Pierce matches him with 3 recent wins and 8 top-5s in 13 starts. Hoffman has been the most consistent finisher all season, averaging a 3.9 finish across 33 starts with 7 wins and $285,107+ in earnings.
On the other end, Overton's 14-race winless stretch is his longest of the season, though he's still been running in the top 10 regularly. Devin Moran has had a rough recent stretch with a 12.2 average finish in his last 10 starts, well off his usual pace.
Chase Junghans is the biggest mover of the last month, with his form improving dramatically. Clay Harris, Tanner English, Shannon Babb, and Dillon McCowan have also trended sharply upward.
Three tracks host their first Late Model feature of 2026 this week: Eldora Speedway opens its Late Model season with the Dream (as big an opener as it gets), Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) hosts a $4,000 RUSH Dirt Late Model Series 604 feature on Saturday, and WaKeeney Speedway fires up for the first time with the Revival series.
Next week is loaded. The West Virginia Motor Speedway RaceFest Summer Championship builds to a $30,000 finale on Saturday, June 13. Muskingum County Speedway's $20,000 Dirt Cup, pitting the top stars of both national tours against each other, fires off Wednesday. The DIRTcar Summer Nationals begins its Hell Tour grind through Illinois. Kentucky Speedweek runs five straight nights at five different tracks. And the Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway builds to $12,000 Saturday. It doesn't slow down.
